(1655.4) ^147:7.2 El martes por la tarde, Jesús estaba dirigiendo una de sus clases habituales de preguntas y respuestas, cuando el jefe de los seis espías le dijo: «Hoy estaba hablando con uno de los discípulos de Juan, que está aquí asistiendo a tu enseñanza, y no acertábamos a comprender por qué nunca ordenas a tus discípulos que ayunen y recen, como nosotros los fariseos ayunamos, y como Juan lo mandó a sus discípulos.» Refiriéndose a una declaración de Juan, Jesús respondió a este interrogador: «¿Acaso ayunan los pajes de honor cuando el novio está con ellos? Mientras el novio permanece con ellos, difícilmente pueden ayunar. Pero se acerca la hora en que el novio será apartado de allí, y entonces los pajes de honor ayunarán y orarán indudablemente. […]

These were friends or companions of the bridegroom and were usually very numerous (Matthew 9:15; Mark 2:19; Luke 5:34). Any wedding guest might be included in the expression, or anyone who took part in the bridal procession and remained for the wedding-feast (see MARRIAGE). In the above passages "the sons of the bride-chamber" are the disciples of Christ.

La escuela de evangelistas no lo poseía todo en común al mismo nivel que los doce.

(1657.1) ^148:0.1 DESDE el 3 de mayo hasta el 3 de octubre del año 28, Jesús y el cuerpo apostólico estuvieron residiendo en la casa de Zebedeo en Betsaida. Durante todo este período de cinco meses de la estación seca, un enorme campamento se mantuvo al lado del mar, cerca de la residencia de Zebedeo, la cual había sido considerablemente ampliada para alojar a la familia creciente de Jesús. Este campamento junto a la playa, que contaba entre quinientas y mil quinientas personas, estuvo ocupado por una población en constante cambio de buscadores de la verdad, de candidatos a la curación y de adictos a la curiosidad. Esta ciudad cubierta de tiendas estaba bajo la supervisión general de David Zebedeo, asistido por los gemelos Alfeo. El campamento era un modelo de orden y de higiene, así como de administración general. Los enfermos de diversos tipos estaban separados y bajo la supervisión de un médico creyente, un sirio llamado Elman.

Throughout this five months’ period of the dry season an enormous camp was maintained by the seaside near the Zebedee residence, which had been greatly enlarged to accommodate the growing family of Jesus. This seaside camp, occupied by an ever-changing population of truth seekers, healing candidates, and curiosity devotees, numbered from five hundred to fifteen hundred. This tented city was under the general supervision of David Zebedee, assisted by the Alpheus twins. The encampment was a model in order and sanitation as well as in its general administration. The sick of different types were segregated and were under the supervision of a believer physician, a Syrian named Elman.

146:4.5 SI FUE SUPUESTO, ¿COMO FUE INTENCIONAL DELIBERADO?

(1644.1) ^146:4.5 Esta purificación del leproso era el primer supuesto milagro que Jesús había realizado intencional y deliberadamente hasta ese momento. Y se trataba de un auténtico caso de lepra.
